Unshakable – Holding Fast To Your Convictions

Listen Spotify Podcast

In a world full of uncertainties, distractions, and wavering beliefs, the book of Hebrews offers a powerful call to spiritual clarity and conviction. Hebrews 10:19–25 serves as both an encouragement and a challenge—a reminder that through Christ, we have full access to God, a firm foundation for our faith, and a divine mission within the body of Christ. This message, drawn from Pastor Léveillé’s sermon, invites us to respond to God’s truth with courage and community.

1. Draw Near to Jesus (Verses 19–22)

The writer of Hebrews begins with an emphatic invitation to enter the presence of God with boldness. Why? Because through the sacrificial blood of Jesus, we now have confidence to step into the Most Holy Place. This is not a call to casual closeness, but to a reverent, wholehearted drawing near. Jesus, our great High Priest, has opened a “new and living way” by His death and resurrection. His sacrifice tore the veil, making intimacy with God not only possible but promised.

Yet this drawing near requires something from us—it calls for sincerity. A true heart, full of faith, and a life cleansed both internally and externally. We cannot approach God with divided loyalty or unrepentant sin. The image here is one of worshipers purified and ready for fellowship, reminding us that Jesus not only grants us access but also prepares us for the presence of God.

Hold Fast to Jesus (Verse 23)

In verse 23, the exhortation sharpens: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering.” This command recognizes the tension between faith and the pressures of life. Whether it’s persecution, disappointment, or spiritual fatigue, we are all tempted to let go. But the verse anchors our confidence in the character of God—“for He who promised is faithful.”

Faith is not simply a one-time declaration; it’s a lifelong grip on the promises of God. And we are urged to hold on without flinching. Pastor Léveillé reminds us that the strength to remain faithful doesn’t come from within us—it comes from the unshakable reliability of God. Holding fast is not about perfection but perseverance. When doubts come and trials persist, our grip tightens not because we’re strong, but because He is faithful.

Build Up the Body of Jesus (Verses 24–25)

Faith is never just personal—it is deeply communal. Hebrews calls us to consider how we might “stir up one another to love and good works.” This phrase carries intentionality and creativity. It’s not passive encouragement but active provocation. How can we inspire each other to reflect Jesus more clearly?

The author then highlights the vital role of gathering together. Meeting regularly isn’t optional—it’s essential. In an age where individualism and isolation are prevalent, this passage rings louder than ever. Encouragement flows in the context of community. As Pastor Léveillé noted, we are not just saved from something; we are saved into something—a body, a family, a mission. And as “the Day” draws near, the urgency only increases. Our time to impact the world with the love of Christ is limited, and the local church is God’s chosen instrument for that purpose.

Conclusion

Hebrews 10:19–25 gives us a threefold call: draw near to Jesus with a sincere heart, hold fast to our hope without wavering, and build up the body of Christ with intentional love. In a culture where convictions are often shaky, this passage provides a foundation that cannot be moved. As Pastor Léveillé passionately preached, our response to the gospel must be bold, committed, and connected. Let us, therefore, be unshakable—together.
